Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event

The last weekend in April is the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event that is attend by thousands from around the world. Scott and I make our annual trek to the Kentucky Horse Park located right here in Lexington for one of the finest equestrian events. My favorite event is the Cross-Country event.

This rider seemed relieved that he made the jump.

This was a terrible mishap that happened in front of us. The rider's mount caught it's hoof on the jump and caused a fall. Both horse and rider were fine but this did disqualify them from the rest of the event.

This is my favorite picture. This was a very difficult jump and this rider and horse were amazing.

I caught Scott taking pictures of me instead of the event.

Stewart Family | Lexington Ky Family Photography

We met the Stewart's at the

Henry Clay Estate

on a beautiful Kentucky fall day. This was our first family portrait session with them as they came to us by recommendation from a long standing customer (thanks, Tessa!). We all enjoyed walking the grounds of the estate and taking

family photos

that will be treasured

forever.  I must admit they are a wonderful family. My best, Valorie

Andrew & Elise | Lexington Ky Childrens Photographer

We love our fall days here in Kentucky and from these picture you can tell why. Scott met Andrew and his sister Elise on location for this great session. Andrew has been coming to us for a few years and this was our first time meeting his sister. They couldn't be more cute together. Valorie

Julie & Pablo | Lexington Ky Wedding Photography

Do you know someone that always has a smile on their face? I have to say that is Julie.  Scott and I have known Julie for many years and in many capacities...a client, a mom, director/teacher and now as a bride. She and Pablo were absolutely glowing with happiness on their wedding day. Best wishes, Valorie

Nick | Lexington Ky Senior Photography

Have you ever known a great all-round guy? Well that's Nick. He is talented, smart and has a great personality. We have been photographing Nick for several years with the PL Dunbar High School Band so he was no stranger to us. Here are a few of my favorite pictures. Kind regards, Valorie

Allison + Tony | Lexington Ky Wedding Photography

We all have people around us that we admire for one reason or another. Allison is one of those people. I've known Allison and her family for many years and have watched Allison work hard to become become a doctor, not just any doctor she and her father are my dentists. She is absolutely amazing in all aspects of her life. I couldn't have been more happy when I met her fiance (now husband) Tony. I could see why her face lit up every time she spoke of him. Here are a few pictures from their special day. Scott

Molly + David | Lexington Ky Wedding Photography

Molly and David chose a one-of-a-kind Guest Book for their wedding. The cover is a silk brocade "Mimosa" with a beautiful pattern and a lovely texture. The right facing pages have a collage of images from their engagement sitting and the left facing pages were intentionally left blank for their guests "best wishes". Valorie

Nathan's Hope

Nathan's Hope is a 5K run/walk to raise money for the Nathan's Hope Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic at the University of Kentucky Children's Hospital and to the Nathan Matuszewicz Scholarship Fund at the University of Kentucky in Animal Sciences. Many people are unaware of the life threatening heart ailments that affect the young. Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH) is just one of those diseases. PPH is a lung disorder in which the pressure in the pulmonary artery rises to above normal levels and becomes life threatening. A young boy named Nathan Matuszewicz who lived in Lexington, Kentucky was diagnosed with this disease in March 1993. The only symptom that made him any different from any other little boy was his shortness of breath. In November of 1998, his medication was no longer working to keep the pressure stable within his lungs, and he was taken to New York to see a specialist in the field of PPH. During a routine cardiac catheterization, Nathan passed away, proving that this wonderful and happy child was really sicker than he ever presented.

Nathan's family and friends are now working to increase the knowlege and awareness of PPH and help the families who have a loved one diagnosed with PPH.

Event: August 21, 2010 at Keeneland's Barn #2

Registration: 8 - 9am

Run/Walk: 9am

Activities: Non-competitive 5K route for runners and walkers, raffle, silent auction, face painting, a special visit from Stitches and PPH information booth

For more information please contact Lynette Crist at 333-6458

Please join Scott and myself as we help raise money for Nathan's Hope. Warmly, Valorie
