Lesley and Jared have dated since high school and if any couple are soul mates, these two are! While doing their engagement session I couldn't help but notice how aware they are of each other. Looking after each other and moving to help without being asked. Their wedding day was no different. From tender, emotional moments to bright, beautiful laughter they embraced their day from beginning to end. Enjoy these highlights of their wonderful day!
Martha and Del are definitely meant for each other. They laugh and smile and you will too when you are with them. It was a beautiful wedding on a beautifully hot Saturday in May. There wedding party was as large as some weddings I have photographed but when I got to spend time with them I understood why they had to have them all be included. Enjoy!
Scott
The big day is almost here for Breanna and Taylor. We are excited!
I must tell you a short story about Breanna. When Breanna was in high school and Studio Walz was photographing her high school senior portraits she said “someday you will photograph mine and Taylor’s wedding”. Amazing! Here we are only a few short days away from that very day.
Scott and I wish them all the best.
Stay tuned for wedding pictures!
What a lovely event last evening at the Lexington Art League to unveil the collaborative artwork and book: A Beautiful Life Through the Eyes of a Child.
In January the Art in Unlikely Places (AiUP) team joined up with Greenhouse 17 and The Kidz Club with music therapy and art healing to create beautiful collection of drawings. These drawings have been brought together to create yet more pieces of art. Four quilts were created by the work of Scott Walz and Arturo Sandoval. Scott photographing all of the children’s drawing and compiling them and Arturo taking the printed compilations and making four unique quilts.
It was exciting to see the AiUP team, an extremely talented group of students that worked hard from concept to fruition, celebrate with the community on a wonderful achievement.
The pictures show the group that gathered for the celebration and also Scott and Arturo being recognized for their part in “A Beautiful Life Through the Eyes of a Child”. Also, there was a book signing for those that purchased books by Scott and Arturo.
Special musical guest performance by the Accoustikats was appreciated by all. The Accoustikats wrote and sang a song created just for this event. It was truly amazing and for an encore they sang “My Old Kentucky Home” which one can never tire of hearing. Thank you Accoustikats!
I am terrible about saying the same things over and over but here it goes. We love our clients! We have been photographing this family from weddings to children/grandchildren. We always enjoy our time with them.
The three generation portion of the sitting was completely impromptu but it has turned out to be some of my favorite images. You can easily see why. The love that shines through their eyes is touching and brings a smile to my face. I hope it does yours too.
Scott enjoys giving back to our community and recently he was approached by our longtime friend Arturo Sandoval, a professor at the University of Kentucky’s School of Fine Art, to be a part of this year’s Art in Unlikely Places. Art in Unlikely Places is a program created by the University of Kentucky’s Arts Administration.
"Art in Unlikely Places connects inspiring artists to those most in need of the transformative powers of the arts. The students' vision is that this organization will deliver the work of inspiring artists to the ailing, the impoverished, and the distraught, sharing beauty with those whose life-circumstances might otherwise prevent them from discovering the hope that is found in the artistic moment.”
This year they have teamed up with the The Kidz Club and Greenhouse 17. Children from both organizations have created beautiful drawings that Scott photographed. From these pieces of art a book will be made. All money raised from the sale of the book will go back to the The Kidz Club and Greenhouse 17.
Please consider supporting this year’s Art in Unlikely Places presented by the Lexington Art League on May7th.
We have had the opportunity to photograph these cuties since they were born so I won’t be surprised that you most likely have seen them before on our website. I decided to blog about family sittings today on a day that it’s raining once again here in Lexington Ky. One of the many reasons to use Studio Walz as your professional photographer is that we have a state of the art full service studio.
Rain, shine or snow we can photograph your children, family, senior, headshot or your commercial shoot. Here is a link for a quick studio tour.
