Nick! | pl dunbar high school senior portraits lexington ky | senior photography lexington ky

I am excited to show you a few of my fav’s of Nick’s high school senior portraits. We have been honored to know Nick and his family for many years as their family photographer. Photographing the senior pictures of those we have watched grow up is always exciting for us and again it’s a true honor.

Scott captured Nick’s personality perfectly, especially his love for basketball.

Lauren | senior photography lexington ky | lexington catholic senior photography | studio walz photography

This young lady may seem familiar to you if your have ever been in the studio. Lauren along with her family’s portrait hangs on the wall in the lobby. We fondly call it “The Wall of Fame”

I always have a difficult time choosing which pictures to post from all of the awesome senior pictures to choose from. Lauren’s images from her senior portrait session was no different as I struggled to get the count down to these eight wonderful images.

Enjoy!

Traci and Philip | Wedding Photography Lexington Ky

Valentines Day is for love and emotion and Traci and Philip selected this past February the 14th to celebrate their love in front of their family and friends in a beautiful ceremony at Park United Methodist Church.  They shared poems in their own words and it was truly moving.  The reception at Lexington's Signature Club was a blast! The Swells rocked the house and Selma's delivered once again their delicious food.  Enjoy the photos!

Studio Walz | Winter 2015 | photography lexington ky

I just wanted to share a photo taken from the front porch of Studio Walz. This was taken on Wednesday after we received over a foot of snow on Monday and more came Tuesday night.

We made it to work on Wednesday for only a short period of time and treacherously made our way back home. Hopefully we are done with the big snowfalls and can start looking forward to a beautiful spring.

Now I wonder how long the massive piles of snow will take to melt away. You can see from the picture it’s up to 4-5ft.

Fiscus Family | family photographer lexington ky

Autumn brings so many memories that come flooding back to me especially as a child. I grew up in the Southwest Virginia surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains. My siblings and I would spend afternoons raking together huge mounds of leaves to play in and I can’t help but smile when I see the Fiscus family photographs. They are surrounded by the beautiful fall leaves with Kentucky at it’s best. Valorie

Rachel | senior photography Nicholasville Ky | West Jessamine High School Senior Portraits

Rachel has a stunning set of senior pictures that I decided to do something different and show you only a black and white series of images from her senior session. I love black and white and I naturally was attracted to her black and white images.  It was difficult to choose which images to use because they were all good or rather I should say fabulous. I hope you love them as much as I do. Enjoy!

Congratulations Scott! | Award Winning Photographer Scott Walz | High School Senior Portrait Specialist Award

Congratulations goes out to Scott for his latest professional photography award of “High School Senior Specialist” won at the Photo Pro Network Conference Scott attended this past weekend. The “High School Senior Specialist” award is given to the most outstanding senior portrait image entered in the Photo Pro Network print competition. A panel of judges makes the honored distinction of one image from all images entered in the “High School Senior” division.

Scott is photographed here with his latest award and award winning photograph. You can even see to the far left of the picture a few of Scott's many awards he has won over the years. Quite an accomplishment!

Also, I managed to talk Scott into letting me photograph him with all of his winning photographs from this years’ competition.

King Kids | family photographer lexington ky | photographer Scott Walz

Something that Scott and I love is watching children grow up as a part of our Studio Walz family. Every year when this family has their family photo taken we are always amazed with how much they have changed. Even more so, we like catching up with them with what’s happening at school and their extra-curricular activities.

If you have ever been to our website before then you have seen their family portraits over the years. Sometimes their photos are taken here at the studio and other times at different locations around Lexington. No matter where their portraits are taken they turn out wonderful.

This time they wanted the look of horse country and you’ll see that’s exactly what they received. We love our city and are proud to live in the horse capital of the world.

Thank you to the King family for being a part of our Studio Walz family.

Justin | senior photographer Shelbyville Ky | Martha Layne Collins High School

The one thing that Justin’s father said, that I can’t get out of my mind, was the images that Scott took of his son “moved” him. He said that’s what you want in pictures is to be moved and he was. These words moved Scott and myself as they were spoken. This is a huge compliment which we are extremely grateful. Basically, it’s music to our ears. We have done our job!

Justin’s father said he found us on the internet when he was searching for a high school senior photographer. He like our work and ultimately was thrilled with the outcome.

Justin is a senior at Martha Layne Collins High School in Shelbyville Kentucky. He plans to major in engineering this fall in college.

Caroline | senior photographer lexington ky | photos by Scott Walz

What an honor to photograph Caroline. We were flattered to once again photograph a senior portrait from this family. Caroline is from a wonderful family and you will see from her pictures that she is quite wonderful herself.

Caroline is a talented young lady. She plays the viola in the P.L. Dunbar Orchestra with plans on majoring in biology next fall in college.
