Annie is a gorgeous recent graduate from Lafayette High School. She comes to us via recommendations from wonderful clients/friends of ours. You may remember my earlier post this year about Carly’s senior pictures. Annie and Carly are good friends and they were actually born on the same day, at the same hospital by the same doctor. Wow, how rare is that?!? I doubt many of us can say that. Annie had a wonderful session in the studio and on location at Keeneland.
It’s hard to believe our niece is a senior! How and when did this happen? It seems just like yesterday Scott was photographing her as a baby. Many memories and celebrations have happened since but we still wonder where has time gone?In a few short months we will be making the trip to Northern Virginia for her graduation and witness her walking across the stage to accept her diploma and again we will be thinking where has time gone?
We were pleased and honored when we are asked to photograph her senior portraits.
Katherine is a competitive cheerleader and a member of the Broad Run High School Varsity football squad. She has been cheering the majority of her life and it’s one of her true loves. Of course, our true love would be for her to attend the University of Kentucky for her college years but we will wait and see what she decides.
Katherine has always been a happy gal and as you can see it shows in her many beautiful photographs. She is a natural beauty with a wonderful personality. We are very proud of the young lady she has turned out to be.

It’s hard to believe that Ann Louise will be attending University of Alabama this fall “Roll Tide!”. It seems like it was just yesterday we were photographing her when she was just a little tike at Southern Hill Early Childhood Program. It amazes me how time flies. What a delight it has been to watch her grow into this precious young lady. We started Ann Louise high school senior portraits at our state of the art studio and then moved onto Keeneland to finalize her senior portrait session with some nature pictures.
Ann Louise is such a fun loving gal you can easily tell that she was having a great time.
She has always been a great to photograph. Her personality flowed through to all of her senior photographs. What an honor and pleasure to photograph her.
I have to tell you this story about the day we photographed Taylor. Taylor does not live in Lexington full time, she attends high school in Tennessee and we only had one opportunity to photograph her and it was the day before Thanksgiving. The pressure was on since we knew prior to her appointment that she not only wanted studio portraits but photographs taken at Keeneland Racecourse too. So the weather not cooperating was not going to be a good situation. So as you can imagine, it snowed the night before Taylor’s sitting. Oh no, what are we going to do but hope that Taylor would be interested in having her environmental pictures taken in the snow. Guess what? She did. She called us the morning of her appointment asking if she could have her senior photos taken in the snow. Wow, of course we will take her senior pictures in the snow! It’s not often that our clients want their photographs in the snow unless it’s a winter wedding and there is no choice when it’s snowing or there is already snow on the ground. I am absolutely in love with Taylor’s high school senior photographs.
The first photograph will be going up in our studio. She ordered it and we loved it so much we decided that we just had to have it too. I can’t wait to see it on our the studio walls soon.
I am excited to show you Katie's senior portraits. Yes, I know, I get all giddy when I'm excited to show you another one of our Legacy Seniors. We have been photographing Katie since she was born and have had the honor of watching her grow into a wonderful and of course beautiful young lady. I wish I could say that somehow Katie being a part of the Studio Walz family helped mold her into the young lady she is today but we can't take any credit. She comes from a wonderful and supporting family that we are proud to know.
Katie will graduating from Lexington Catholic High School this spring and has plans to attend the University of Kentucky majoring in Nursing.
Thank you! That's what I must say to Mason and his family. They are part of our much beloved Second Presbyterian Church family and we appreciate being honored to photograph Mason's senior portraits and two years ago we photographed his older sister Shelby. So after much discussion on where to photograph Mason's high school senior pictures, downtown Lexington was chosen. Picking a location is important to reflect the senior's personality and or style. I think the location fits Mason perfectly and it was a great opportunity to walk the streets and the old neighborhoods of our beautiful city.
Mason is a senior at Woodford County High School, plays soccer, likes shooting and gaming with plans on possibly majoring in engineering next fall.
Okay, just bare with me for a few moments while I ramble on a bit. As you know, some of our clients that we have photographed since birth have a special place in our hearts. We have photographed two of such seniors this fall and Carly is one of them. Many of you will recognize her from our website over the years and her portrait hanging right here in our studio. Also, she was honored as one of White, Greer and Maggard Orthodontics models that we photograph. If you have a child in school most likely you have seen her picture in ads in school publications across central Kentucky.
It's so exciting to watch children from birth to adulthood. We first met Carly and her mom when Carly was just a baby and have always loved photographing her. It's an honor for us to be chosen as a familys' family photographer and we feel so much a part of their lives.
Now that the brag-fest is over let me tell you a little about Carly. She is a senior at Lafayette High School and is on the golf team. She has plans to attend the University of Kentucky next fall and major in education. Of course, we wish her all the best.

Seniors! I love this time of year! Its fall in Kentucky and a wonderful time to take high school senior portraits. We are busy photographing high school seniors from around Central Kentucky and Jenna is one of those gals. I'm always amazed with the seniors we photograph. They are crazy busy. Let me tell you about Jenna. She is a senior at Scott County High School, on the dance team, she is active with VEX Robotics, NHS President, Class Treasurer, teaches a special needs dance class and in her free time enjoys cooking and baking. Next fall she plans on attending the University of Kentucky and majoring in Early Childhood Development. I'm tired just thinking about all that she does. Well let me get to the important part - THE PICTURES!
This beautiful young lady is now a first year student at Centre College. She brought to her senior portrait sitting so much of her personality and style. I loved all of her images. We are impressed with Sarah for not only getting one scholarship to Center College but two scholarships! Awesome! Her parents must be so proud.
Like with many of our high school seniors we photograph, Sarah ordered an album of her high school senior portrait sitting. An album is a great way to get many of your favorite images all in one product. They are designed by the one and only Scott Walz so every album produced by Studio Walz is an original. No templates are ever used! As you can see Sarah's album is stunning!
