Formal Children’s Portraits | Studio Walz | Lexington Ky

Not too long ago it was not unusual for a family to bring their children in for formal portraits. Sometimes families brought their children in one at a time when they reached a certain “age” or the whole family would come in. Enlargements were ordered for the living room to mark the cornerstone. Now, we receive calls from people wanting to know if we actually have a studio and do we have fill lights and reflectors. They are looking for a family photographer that can be there for the special times in their family’s life marking those special occasions as births, christenings, first communion, family portraits, high school senior portraits and weddings.

We have found that children raised coming to Studio Walz for their portraits are always at ease and love their time here. They grow up knowing Scott as their family photographer and are excited to see us when they arrive. Truly, our clients become a member of our extended family.

The times may have changed and we have changed along with it but we will not stop photographing the timeless formal portrait. Here are some images taken of this precious little girl. She loved her time in front of the camera and her special time being the center of attention.

I am terrible about saying the same things over and over but here it goes. We love our clients! We have been photographing this family from weddings to children/grandchildren. We always enjoy our time with them.

The three generation portion of the sitting was completely impromptu but it has turned out to be some of my favorite images. You can easily see why. The love that shines through their eyes is touching and brings a smile to my face. I hope it does yours too.

We love the children we photograph. It’s a special time in their lives when there is not a care in the world. Laughter is all around these precious children.

I know I would love to go back to a time when my only worry is what game I would be playing next.

This little one we absolutely adore!

You may have seen her photograph before. We have an enlargement of her in the main entrance hall leading to the studio. Also, we have a sample album of her too.

Many of our clients find an album is a good solution to loving and wanting a lot of the photographs from their portrait session. And an album is easily transportable too so you can take it with you to show your family and friends.

The Francis family loved the pictures we had taken of their daughter at her school so they decided to try us out. Since we only do a few school projects, I don't consider us as school photographers. I always tell clients when they say "we have never had school pictures this nice before" it's because we maintain our same quality at a school as we do in our studio. We have a high standard that always must be met. These little darlings were wonderful to photograph. They truly had a blast. We love children that love to play because Scott loves to play with them. He has as much fun as they do.

Like many of the parents of children we photograph, we photographed their wedding first. Since their wedding, we have photographed Brady's older siblings and now it was his turn.

A wonderful opportunity for a family picture is when you are pregnant. Lindsie brought in her precious little girl for some wonderful mother-daughter pictures. Lindsie also took the opportunity to have pictures taken of herself while pregnant with her next daughter Violet.

Check out the cute pictures of this little one. This is Emmiline's first pictures with us and she couldn't have been more cute. The image below we loved so much, it has made our "wall of honor" in a beautiful gallery wrap. Next time you are by the studio, come on in and you'll see it in our entrance hall.

Our clients are always welcome to bring cute little hats as Mary did for Emmiline. It really made the picture.

I always like it when mom's want to be a part of their newborns' first picture. If they don't, I feel they are passing up an oppurtnity they will never get back again. It was important to Mary to be a part of Emmiline's pictures and we were happy to make it happen. My best, Valorie

Carston | Lexington Ky Childrens Photography

This little one is just too cute for words. According to his mother, his sister had a princess birthday party and Carston wore this tuxedo to great guests as they arrived. I can just imagine all those little girls dressed up as little princess's. What a wonderful time they all must have had.
