After a wonderful Christmas season Studio Walz has embarked on a major studio remodel. After many years of talking and planning, we finally said “yes” we are going to give the studio a face lift. The remodel began on January 2nd and will continue throughout the month. We hope to be completed by the end of January but as things go it just may be sometime in February. We are taking business portraits during this time and other sittings will resume when the remodel is complete. I hope to post a few pictures to show you our progress. In the mean time, I will get back to work showing you portraits we have taken this fall and during the Christmas season. Valorie and Scott
During the fall and the days leading up to Christmas we have the opportunity to photograph many families, children, seniors and weddings that we have time for little else. Scott and I love this time of year because we love meeting new people, it’s like making new friends, and we get to catch-up with customers we haven’t seen in a while. We are truly blessed to have a job that we get to be a part of so many families lives and to be fortunate to watch their children grow-up, photograph them through the years and then see them get married. So many of our clients are like our extended family. We are at our busiet during this time but it’s like having a family reunion every week leading up to Christmas. Now this is a job you can love! So let me show you what we’ve been up to. Valorie
Do you know someone that always has a smile on their face? I have to say that is Julie. Scott and I have known Julie for many years and in many capacities…a client, a mom, director/teacher and now as a bride. She and Pablo were absolutely glowing with happiness on their wedding day. Best wishes, Valorie
Molly and David chose a one-of-a-kind Guest Book for their wedding. The cover is a silk brocade “Mimosa” with a beautiful pattern and a lovely texture. The right facing pages have a collage of images from their engagement sitting and the left facing pages were intentionally left blank for their guests “best wishes”. Valorie

It never gets old when your work receives a special honor no matter how long you have been a professional photographer. This is especially the case with Scott, he was surprised when the Professional Photographers of America chose one of his images for a full page spread in their magazine. The image chosen has won many awards state, regionally and nationally. Scott won “Court of Honor” in the wedding division on the state level and it went “Loan” on the national level. “Loan” is a prestigious honor in which his image traveled globally in an exhibit.
I feel fortunate to be married to such a talented person as Scott and even better, I get to work with him everyday! My best, Valorie

From the moment Scott and I met Allison and William they have been a joy to work with. Scott photographed them in the studio and at Waveland Museum State Historic Site for their engagement sitting. They are both naturals in front of the camera. I know there wedding pictures are going to be great too. My best, Valorie

I first met Andrew when I was photographing the Henry Clay High School Band. I was pleased when his mother called and ask me to photograph his senior pictures. Andrew is quite a talented young man and he brought his drum and his collection of drum sticks with him. He sure rocked-out the studio when he demonstrated his drumming technique. Scott

Even though we photographed Jessica’s senior portraits a couple of years ago her mother wanted us to create a keepsake album. Because we archive our clients images this was not a problem but exciting to revisit those stunning images Scott took of her daughter. The album and unique cover she chose is most fitting to her daughter’s personality. Her album cover is a combination of textures of leather and faux cheetah fur. Jessica and her mother loved the album and is already planning Jessica’s next photography sitting.
Wow, is all I can say. Caroline is becoming more and more beautiful every time we photograph her. We’ve been photographing her and her siblings for many years and feel honored to be their family photographer. This sitting was to showcase her gorgeous hair as she is planning to donate her hair to Locks of Love. We admire her for donating her hair to such a renowned organization so it was very important to us that we show her hair in the best possible light. Thanks to her mother and Caroline for this wonderful opportunity.
The first image is Scott’s favorite and is now hanging in the studio!
