We have known Marlee since she was a freshman in the PL Dunbar High School Marching Band. She is a talented and lovely young lady that we have enjoyed getting to know. Soon she will be off to college majoring in nursing but we will be seeing her again before then, because this summer we are photographing her sister’s wedding.

Liz is such a delight to know and photograph. A soon graduate of Lexington Catholic High School, Liz is quite an outgoing young lady. She is active with the Lexington Catholic Speech Team, the McTeggert Irish Dancers and Theatre.

Liz came to us by referral by a fellow thespian and her mother (thank you Fiona and Colette).

Here is a wonderful family sitting. I decided to include an email Scott received from our client soon after viewing her pictures taken on that beautiful Kentucky day. “Like? Doesn’t even come close!!! I love them!!! I am beyond impressed and they turned out better than I could have ever thought. I showed my mom last night and she was just as excited as me. You did an AMAZING job!! You were wonderful with the kids and brought out their natural side which is what I have been trying to get photographers to do for years. We have had the honor of watching this stunning young lady grow up in front of our eyes. Shelby is a part of our church family at Second Presbyterian Church and her mother was a High School classmate of Scott’s. So you can imagine how we feel about her.

Shelby chose to be photographed at her friends Courtland’s horse farm for her senior photographs. We will be showing you Courtland’s senior pictures in our next blog.

As you can see it was a beautiful Kentucky day for her photographs.

She is just as lovely in person as she is in these photographs.

We wish her the best of luck as she takes the next step this fall as she enters college. Scott and Valorie

Your are not imagining things if you are thinking this beautiful young lady looks familiar. You last saw her on our blog in June 2010. We have been photographing Caroline and her family for many years and we are delighted to have the opportunity to photograph her senior portraits.

I must mention that Caroline is also part of our Second Presbyterian Church family. As you know from reading previous posts that our church family is very special to us and that includes Caroline. Our church and it’s members are very much a part of who are. Thank you Caroline for being a part of our large church family.

Caroline chose to be photographed home of a family friend. I love this photograph that shows off the architecture of this library along with a fantastic subject. This is just one of many great pictures that Scott took that day. More photographs of Caroline can be found on our website at studiowalz.com.

The black and white photographs are probably my favorite pictures but let’s be honest, they are all my favorites.

Rosemary | Lexington Ky Senior Photography

I just had to do it. I just had to show you pictures we have taken of Rosemary since she was seven years old. I love to watch the children we photograph grow up and I love to brag about what wonderful young ladies and gentlemen they have become. Rosemary is no different. She is quite an amazing young woman and will be off to University of Cincinnati this fall.

A current student of Lexington Catholic High School and cheerleader. I could have put together a collage of Rosemary’s tumbling pictures. She is a competitive cheerleader and that means she has great tumbling skills. If anyone has ever seen these competitive teams in action you would be astonished at their ability.

Scott and I wish Rosemary the best in the years to come. Scott and Valorie

The New Studio Walz!

Wow, what a crazy couple of months it has been. I had hoped to keep you updated with the progress of our remodel and show you pictures along the way. Well, things didn’t actually happen the way I thought. There wasn’t much time for anything else because we stayed open during the whole remodel.

An amazing transformation of the studio happened in a few short weeks. Walls came down and walls went back up along with new flooring, lighting and a beautiful entrance area and dressing room. We still have a few small projects that we are working on. One of which is a new frame corner sample area and another is all new portraits for our walls.

Here are a few progress images that depicts the progress that was made.

New walls going up and new sub-floor (no more squeaky floors!)

Drywall complete, prepped and ready to paint.
