After a wonderful Christmas season Studio Walz has embarked on a major studio remodel. After many years of talking and planning, we finally said “yes” we are going to give the studio a face lift. The remodel began on January 2nd and will continue throughout the month. We hope to be completed by the end of January but as things go it just may be sometime in February. We are taking business portraits during this time and other sittings will resume when the remodel is complete. I hope to post a few pictures to show you our progress. In the mean time, I will get back to work showing you portraits we have taken this fall and during the Christmas season. Valorie and Scott

I’m pleased to be showing you some of Caroline and Ben’s wedding pictures. Scott and I have known Caroline and her family for many years because they are a part of our special church family we have at the Second Presbyterian Church. We have known Ben as well for many years because he and Caroline were part of PL Dunbar’s Marching Band and we have had the honor of photographing their marching band for over ten years. So, you can imagine how excited we were to learn that they were getting married.

We had a beautiful Kentucky day for this wonderful occasion.

Jacob was the star of many pictures.

They met Scott at Keeneland Race Course for this occasion. I think it’s great you can tell how much they love each other just by looking at their engagment photos.

Scott & Valorie’s Vacation 2011

Finally, a few pictures from our Europe/Eastern Mediterranean Cruise vacation that we took in August. I know, so many of you have been asking about our 20th wedding anniversary trip and finally here are a few pictures. I only had a few thousand to sort through (not like that’s a lot or anything) to pick out some of my fav’s. I hope you like them too.

I’ve posted these pictures completely in a random order. I feel lucky just to get them up for all to see. You’ll recognize most of the places.

It’s difficult to photograph Scott without a camera in his hands. This is Scott in action when he can take pictures for his own pleasure.

As I see it, yet another awesome adventure with my awesome husband. I often tell him “your the best husband I’ve every had”. We always have a great time together.

Yes, that’s me with my first “big girl” camera. Scott insisted on buying me my first SLR camera. Not a professional camera by all means but pretty nice one for a beginner. It’s a Nikon D7000.

As you can imagine if there is a horse in the vicinity I would find it. I gave him some Kentucky horse treats. We never leave home without a few peppermints. The horse gladly took the peppermints from my hand but wasn’t so sure about it after he ate it.

Angela is a gal that is going places…really going places….truly going places. She’s has actually already left Lexington to spend her senior year of high school in Germany. Now that’s going places at a young age.

We first photographed Angela as a member of the PL Dunbar Marching Band and now as a high school senior/world traveler.

Her beautiful photography session first began at the Waveland Museum Historic State Park then off to Studio Walz to finish with in-studio shots.

We wish Angela a fun-filled senior year abroad and to come back with knowledge that can change the world. Scott & Valorie

I’m excited about showing you Matt’s pictures. You ask why? Matt is an amazing young man and he is extremely smart and ambitous for his age. Let me tell you a little more about Matt. Starting with his junior year of high school he began taking classes through a special program at our local community college. This allowed him to finish his last two years of high school at the same time taking a full load of college classes. Oh no it doesn’t stop here, he also has a job and helps his parents with their catering business. Since I’m rambling on and on about Matt I might as well mention that he has wonderful manners. I know that doesn’t seem worth mentioning but we have all noticed that common courtesy isn’t what it used to be.

His picture will soon be on display in our front window and you can see more of his pictures on our website Studio Walz.

I know Matt will go far with his career and you never know he maybe our next Steve Jobs. My best, Valorie

Gesela & Family

We first met Gesela when she came to the studio for a business portrait. We immediately hit it off. You know how some people have a magnetic personality and you just click with them. Well that’s Gesela. You just can’t help but like her.

Then one thing led to another and she wanted us to photograph her family. Of course we were happy to. Scott traveled to her home to do a more personal family portrait sitting.

What a beautiful family she is blessed to have. Scott and Valorie

Richard and Matt | Lexington Ky Family Photography

It’s always an honor when we have the opportunity to photograph someone from our Second Presbyterian Church family. I have spoken before how our church family is special to us and these boys are very much a part of that.

Richard is a senior at the University of Memphis and Matt is off to Western Kentucky University as a freshman.

As you can see both young men have achieved Eagle Scout through years of hard work and dedication. What an accomplishment! Valorie
