I’m excited about showing you Matt’s pictures. You ask why? Matt is an amazing young man and he is extremely smart and ambitous for his age. Let me tell you a little more about Matt. Starting with his junior year of high school he began taking classes through a special program at our local community college. This allowed him to finish his last two years of high school at the same time taking a full load of college classes. Oh no it doesn’t stop here, he also has a job and helps his parents with their catering business. Since I’m rambling on and on about Matt I might as well mention that he has wonderful manners. I know that doesn’t seem worth mentioning but we have all noticed that common courtesy isn’t what it used to be.
His picture will soon be on display in our front window and you can see more of his pictures on our website Studio Walz.
I know Matt will go far with his career and you never know he maybe our next Steve Jobs. My best, Valorie

This striking young lady is Eliot and was a senior at East Jessamine High School.

How delighted we were to learn that Eliot is the neice of a long time client.

Eliot is very talented. We photographed with her banjo and violin.

Next time you are by the studio, you will see her portrait (a gallery wrapped canvas) on our “Wall of Honor” in our main hallway leading to the studio. Valorie

What an honor to photograph Myles. We first met his sister a few years ago for her senior portraits and now it’s Myles turn. My best, Valorie

Marcie had a great set of senior pictures. What do you think?

Her sitting began in the studio with some formal pictures and then off to Waveland Museum State Historic Site for the some fun photographs.

Marcie will be rushing this fall at the University of Kentucky and wish her luck.

We have watched Marcie and her friends grow up as a part of PL Dunbar’s Marching Band’s Color Guard. These young adults are amazingly hardworking. I’m always very impressed with these students. I wish Marcie continued success in college. Have fun! Valorie

Colin comes from a family that we have gotten to know over the years. We have been photographing him along with his sisters as member of the PL Dunbar High School Marching Band. Colin is such a talented guy, besides playing the drums for Dunbar’s band but he is quite an accomplished guitar player as well. We wish him luck at college this fall. Valorie

We have been photographing David for many years as a member of the P.L. Dunbar Marching Band. Now, we had the opportunity to photograph him for his high school senior portraits. This gave us time to get to know David better because picture day for the band is very hectic when we are photographing 150+ students. That doesn’t give us much time to get to know the students.
We found out that he has a great mind for math (I wish I could tap into that). He will be attending the University of Tennessee (we won’t hold that against him) this fall and will be majoring in Architecture.

This black and white photograph is one my favorite pictures of David. What do you think?
I wish him the best of luck. Valorie

It’s such an exciting time in the life of a high school senior. So much is going on there lives such as spring break, prom, graduation and of course the all important senior pictures! (at least we think so) Julia is a recent graduate of West Jessamine High School with a bright future ahead of her. Check out these awesome photographs of her. Valorie

I have been blogging about the awesome seniors that we have photographed from our church. We’ll Adam is one of those extra special seniors. It’s hard to know where to begin when speaking of Adam. You see, we have known Adam since he was a boy of maybe eight or nine years old and my first memory of him was when he was with his mother at our studio and she noticed a picture on our wall of Second Presbyterian’s sanctuary that Scott had taken. We said something like “that’s our church” and Adam corrected us and said something like “that God’s house”. Wow I thought, he is correct and this came from such a young boy.
Now this young boy has become a man that we all can be proud of. I can’t help but brag about him. He is a good student of West Jessamine High School, accomplished musician of his high school marching band, a devoted Christian, polite, good looking, etc. I could go on and on because he is just that special of a guy.
This fall he will begin a new journey in his life as he becomes a freshman at the University of Kentucky. Scott and I along with his family and friends will continue to watch this young man grow into the man we all know he will be. We are all so proud of you Adam. Thank you for being a part of our lives. Our best, Valorie and Scott

Here is Adam with his girlfriend Annie. They make such a cute couple.

This is one our extra special seniors that we feel proud of and very pleased to be photographing her high school senior portraits. Fiona is a part of our church family which makes her even more special than already she is. This young lady is smart, talented and beautiful all wrapped up to make a unbelievably outgoing/ambitious person. She has impressed us both in a way that we stay in awe of her.

She is one of the talented students of SCAPA that stays involved in many plays in and outside of her school.

I see her as whimsical and carefree in these pictures. What do you think?

I know we will continue to admire her as she makes her way through life.

Scott and I wish her the best of luck with all of her future endeavors. God bless, Valorie

We’ve been busy photographing seniors and Will is the first of three that are extra special to myself and Scott. You see, Will is a part of our Second Presbyterian Church family. Our church family plays a large and important roll in our lives.

Will has a passion for reading which is to be admired. I don’t know about you but I love to read but never seem to find the time…I know, I know this sounds lame. Will also wanted to be photographed with one of his dogs. All of his dogs have been rescued which tells you more about what a great guy he is.

We couldn’t be more please to photograph Will for this important time in his life. We wish Will only the best as he sets out to pursue his college degree as he intends to become a librarian. Valorie
