During the fall and the days leading up to Christmas we have the opportunity to photograph many families, children, seniors and weddings that we have time for little else. Scott and I love this time of year because we love meeting new people, it’s like making new friends, and we get to catch-up with customers we haven’t seen in a while. We are truly blessed to have a job that we get to be a part of so many families lives and to be fortunate to watch their children grow-up, photograph them through the years and then see them get married. So many of our clients are like our extended family. We are at our busiet during this time but it’s like having a family reunion every week leading up to Christmas. Now this is a job you can love! So let me show you what we’ve been up to. Valorie

Nathan’s Hope is a 5K run/walk to raise money for the Nathan’s Hope Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic at the University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital and to the Nathan Matuszewicz Scholarship Fund at the University of Kentucky in Animal Sciences. Many people are unaware of the life threatening heart ailments that affect the young. Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH) is just one of those diseases. PPH is a lung disorder in which the pressure in the pulmonary artery rises to above normal levels and becomes life threatening.
A young boy named Nathan Matuszewicz who lived in Lexington, Kentucky was diagnosed with this disease in March 1993. The only symptom that made him any different from any other little boy was his shortness of breath. In November of 1998, his medication was no longer working to keep the pressure stable within his lungs, and he was taken to New York to see a specialist in the field of PPH. During a routine cardiac catheterization, Nathan passed away, proving that this wonderful and happy child was really sicker than he ever presented.
Nathan’s family and friends are now working to increase the knowlege and awareness of PPH and help the families who have a loved one diagnosed with PPH.

Have you seen White, Greer & Maggard Orthodontic’s new office in Hamburg? If you have, you’ve seen our portraits adorning their walls. We have been doing work for White, Greer & Maggard Orthodontics for many years and are honored to have our work hang in their office (Nicholasville office as well). The people in the portraits are actually their patients they send to us to photograph, then they use these images for advertising. What a great way to advertise is with your actual patients! Some may seem familiar to you, as you may have seen them in the Chevy Chaser/Southsider monthly magazines.
Also, you may have noticed that the pictures we are showing you are not just of our work but the interiors of their office. They actually have Scott travel to each office and photograph the interiors for later use on their website. Kind regards, Valorie
Hello my name is Valorie Walz and today is my first time blogging and I’m already having a great time. I am a people person, as some of you may know, so this is a great way to keep in touch and to make new friends along the way. I hope to be here at least once-a-week to share with you about what is happening at Studio Walz. Our studio always has a lot going on and this will be the perfect way “brag” about our clients or to just talk.
